Heating in vestibule
We are changing our HVAC system and the mechanical engineer is recommending heating units in the garden and parlor vestibules. Is it common/needed to have heating in vestibules? Thank you in advance.

Yes. It keeps the building from having a very cold spot during the winter. Many reasons from drafts to condensation to cold floors in the room above often make heating a vestibule worthwhile. I often advise my clients to condition the vestibule. Sometimes we can (if it is a forced air system) steam a little air from an adjacent room. In a steam or hydronic system it’s fairly cheap to install a radiator.
