Know of any electricians with experience in installing cat5(e) cable for routers in different places around the house?

As a computer/network tech, you don’t want me to pull your wires. You should have an electrician, since they are familiar with what else may be in your walls and what the best ways to pull the wires may be. Also, you should use CAT 6, rather than CAT 5\. It’s a newer cable and you may as well future-proof your network as best you can. The only “network design issue” is that each and every cable should run from the wall outlet to the central location where you plan on having your modem, router and switch. It’s also a good idea to have them pull more than one wire to each location in case one goes bad. They can also be used for audio, video, etc.

OK. Know of any computer techs with experience in installing cat5(e) cable for routers placed around the house?

You don’t want an electrician, you want a computer tech. Even alarm guys can pull low voltage. Understanding why and where is a network design issue, that’s why we are called network engineers.
