Estimate for installing a washing machine and dryer
Not sure how this discussion turned to gas lines. There is no benefit to a gas dryer unless you have issues running 220b electric. And most of the “fancier” dryer are not available in gas.

Hi,
I want to have a full bath turned into a bathroom/laundry room in a townhouse. Ideally, I would have the current tub demolished and replaced with a standing shower and then a stackable washer/dryer placed next to it. I want to make this change because I want a vented dryer, not a European style ventless machine that will take hours to do a load. Has anyone BTDT?

How far is the connection to the gas meter and do you have a clear shot to the roof?

There is a clear shot to the roof as well as a window in the bathroom. I don’t know how far to the gas meter but it’s right next to the kitchen. Thanks.

If you branch off the gas in the kitchen the entire line from the meter and every branch and appliance on that line would have to be pressure tested..
The vent had to be several feet away from any operable windows and if attached to a window,, that window has to be a non operable.
Lots of different rules in play, best to ask a licensed plumber

Gas dryer installation must be filed with DOB, inspected and signed off. Maximum length of venting not to exceed 25 feet, each 90 degree turn counts as 5 feet.

Consider electric dryer with a dedicated 220 line. Ventless can be slow but the difference between 110and 220 is significant.

DOB will not allow a gas drier in a bathroom. I think the reason is that the venting of the bathroom could create negative pressure and interfere with the combustion and venting of the drier and create a CO risk. Electric drier is okay, or if you really want gas, create a door from the hallway to a dedicated laundry closet separate from the bathroom.
