Natural Gas line for Grill

I have a capped off natural gas line in my backyard. Can anyone comment on the process of uncapping it and making it legal for use with a natural gas grill?

A grill can be installed within 10′ of a building but not within 10′ of “combustible waste, or combustible material, including combustible building surfaces, balconies and decks”

I think the grill has to be 10′ from the house and also from any boundary. If you have a 20′ wide brownstone this means is has to be smack bang in the middle of the yard. Maybe not worth having building inspectors nosing all over your place for that little detail. Propane tanks are cheap and easy.

Before you can uncap it, you probably have to get a compliance inspection.
If the line doesn’t come directly from the meter, or has any branches, every single connection will have to be pressure tested.

Any licensed plumber can test it and make the connections to a grill. Grill delivery people will not do it.
