“Electric Steam” Radiator
Hi Everyone, I found this relic from the 1930s in my basement. Looks like it works exactly as it says – plugs into a receptacle and makes steam. It’s made of cast iron. According to some literature I found it must have been a luxury item back in the day as it sold for $57. Is it worth anything today? I have no idea what it’s worth but I’d take it off your hands just for novelty’s sake. No idea what I’d do with it but I’d clean it up and give it a good home at the historic school building where I teach a course on Hydronic (water based) Heating Systems.

Fascinating. I guess it’s not all that different from the oil-filled electric radiators available now, although I’d guess the new ones might be safer. As to value, I have no idea. Are there radiator collectors?.
