Use of Forum

I’ve had similar problems as well. Looks like they are working through the bugs but I agree some sort of notice on the top letting previous registered users know they have to re-register (old username / password will not work) to use the site would make sense.

I just had to reregister in order to respond to a post — i.e., go through the whole sign-up procedure again, new password, etc. — have others been having this experience? I miss being able to go to the next or previous post directly from the one I’m looking at. Instead, it seems, you have to go back to the top of the Forum then scroll down to the post you’re interested in. Am I missing something? I haven’t tried it yet, but are we still able to get to posters’ previous posts and comments by clicking on their name? Or is that gone too?

If you read the first post and its comments, you will see that there are a few of us who are not 100% pleased with the change. That said, – the majority of visitors don’t care too much about the change – the site is still in the making and , if needed, changes will be made. – users will get used to the new site and in a couple of weeks will have forgotten all about the old site.

it’s not so much because it’s a totally new program as it is that the programmers were too lazy/inept to bring everyone’s usernames and passwords over from the previous incarnation of the site. Very frustrating and very bad form, especially since the box that asks you to login doesn’t tell you that you need to re-register if you already have an account. But really, it shouldn’t be making anyone do any of that. Grrr.
