We live in a semi detached house with a private driveway on the side. Our driveway is adjacent to our neighbor’s driveway. The past couple of months, we noticed scratch marks on our new car. There is about 10 minor scratches (waist level) just on the right side of the car last month (none on left side), we did not think much of it. This week we noticed we got another 10 scratches and its driving me up the wall now. We figured it has to be our neighbor’s tenant (also their relative) since he uses their backyard as a gardening area, he also pushes his dolly with stuff he picks up on the street during garbage collection and put it in the backyard. We have no hard evidence that it is him but quite frankly who else can it be. We spoke to him 2-3 times about it but hes the type of guy that denies and promises it won’t happen again. We even spoke with the neighbor (landlord) directly but since thats his uncle he is afraid to say anything to him. At this point we are thinking about installing a security camera to monitor the driveway so we can have evidence to bring up. What can we do at this point even with video evidence? take the guy to small claims court? Anyone dealt with something like this? We are planning to repaint the side of the car since a couple of scratches shows the bare metal. I was told it will be at least a few hundred for a repaint job  =(
