WALL HUNG HOT WATER BOILER

Anyone have experience with wall hung hot water boiler?  Asking on behalf of flood victim who lost boiler in flooded basement.  A wall hung unit would at least save the boiler next time.  Cost and efficiency vs traditional hot water heating boiler?  Recommended brands and models?

High efficiency boilers installed price not much higher than properly installed standard efficiency boiler. Problem is that standard efficiency boilers are very forgiving to wrong done installation, and super joe from the building around the corner or handyman carlos can install it in free time. Poor money savvy  homeowner will never know he missed low heating bills and comfort in his house.

Keep in mind there is a middle-option. A sealed combusion cast iron boiler is often a good compromise.

The price and installation of a wall hung high efficiency boiler is way higher than a plain vanilla floor mount lower efficiency atmospherically  vented boiler.As mp pointed out,it can be extremely difficult to vent the HE boiler attaining all required clearances, and in addition , with the phasing out of pvc and cpvc as approved venting materials, a lot more expensive

Most high efficiency boilers offer a wall-hung option now. The big obstacle is venting it legally.
