Im located in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn and Im looking to convert from Oil to Gas heating. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the pricing? Thanks a bunch

Here is the link to National Grid website which describes conversion incentives. When I did it they paid for the boiler and I paid for the installation. The installer was approved by National Grid (then Brooklyn Union) and the installer removed the old tank. If you discover old asbestos insulation it does not have to be removed. It has to be encapsulated, the pipes are wrapped with new insulation and sealed.

too many variables – steam? hot water? size ? need more info – three costs that you will have to include in addition the the boiler  1\. your chimney will probably need to be re-lined 2 – 4K ,if your current system has any asbestos that will need to be removed – 1.5 K and up – and removal of current oil tank ?$

As Jock said, call a few plumbers and they will come out to take a look at your needs. Don’t hire anyone who doesn’t measure your radiators. If the can’t spend a few minutes doing their due diligence in order to properly size the replacement boiler, you aren’t getting someone who cares enough about you as a customer.
