We are looking for someone who really knows their way around a steam heat boiler and radiator system in a four story brownstone. We are having a problem with (what is likely) water hammer in a wall that is making sleep impossible for our tenants. Don’t care if it’s a heating tech person, plumber or someone’s dad (or grandpa), as long as they 1. really know how the system works, 2. are willing to sign on to oversee (in some cases where our contractor needs to fix things) and do the actual work to resolve our problem and 3. can provide us with at least a rough estimate of cost for the incremental items and/or the total.
Yes we know the basics of steam heat but we need to address multiple possibilities. Many thanks in advance for any great recommendations!
