Boiler Repair Reommendation

I just had my 500,000BTU boiler break down. I called several companies. Most wanted a fee up to $250 just for the estimate. I called two services that offered free estimates. The first came without notice and I did not know where they got my information. They looked at the boiler and said the main parts were dead and the total cost would be $1,100. The second boiler repair man came, whom I made an appointment for. He did his tests on the boiler  and said none of the parts that the original repair person said were defective did not need replacement. He replaced a diferent part after testing the entire system. The total cost including  replacing a corroded pigtail pipe and another defective part was $175.00. I highly recommend this HVAC service. Call Gateway the company of Masterplvmber who contributes regularly to this forum.  The know boilers and have a sterling reputation.  I assume they are  listed in the directory linked at the top of the page.
