boiler maintenance

I bought a new home recently and I know nothing about boiler maintenance, ie. cleaning, flushing etc…. I have a Weil-Mclain gas boiler. I’m thinking of getting a service contract with HomeServe which used to be National Grid. Does anyone use or recommend this company or have any suggestions for a company I should use? Thanks
