antique douglas fir flooring Question / Radiant Heat

What on earth have you read that says you shouldn’t use radiant heat with pine flooring? You certainly can. You just need to limit the surface temperature to 80°. You wouldn’t be the first person to have done this successfully.

Good afternoon Brownstoners, I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. I am torn on a decision that needs to be made and im hoping all of you can help me decide. We have a gut rehab going on right now and discovered we have about 600 SF of original flooring perfectly removed from the house which is currently being stored in the cellar. I had Jose who is mentioned on this site often come take a look and he said on a scale of 1-10, they are a 10, in perfect condition. I really wanted to use these floors on our parlor but i think we are going to end up doing radiant heating throughout the house. In my reading I have found out pine floors are not good for radiant heat flooring and 2 flooring people had suggested i do not install them over it. Half of it is wide plank and half of it is narrow. I haven’t measured it yet but i know its 3/4 inches thick and Jose said he thinks they have never been sanded. I guess i should sell it? whats it worth?
