Floor Repair Done Wrong

I had a company that was recommended on this forum come and repair refinish a parquet floor.  Part of it was a kitchen that was relocated so  they replaced a great deal of flooring that was damaged.  Now the floor is cracking.  They put the new floor over the subfloor that had holes cut out for plumbing and was water damaged.   I started to pry up the floor and am shocked that anyone would put flooring over a subfloor in such desperate need of repair.  I would of have paid to have it fixed.I feel this company made a huge mistake putting 1/4″ and less parquet strips over essentially air.  Also once they pulled up the water damaged floor shouldn’t they have told me the condition before slapping new floor down?  Am I wrong to think these people are hacks.  Does anyone have a recommendation for someone who can fix this mess, I can’t see letting these people come back in my house.

I agree.  Take pictures just in case and speak to the owner of the company.  If you get no satisfaction, get repair estimates and take the company to small claims court.

Take lots of photos and take them to small claims court if they are not willing to refund you some money.
