recs on inexpensive flooring refinisher?

Hi all,

Anyone know of an insured (no need to be licensed), and inexpensive wood refinisher who can sand/stain the existing floors and strip some paint from a few doors?

From looking throughout this site, it seems anywhere between $1 – $2 per sqft is a fair price for the floor job. I’d like to get the entire Brownstone refinished. 

Looking to complete the project by the end of July. Thanks in advance!

I know this is a bit late but I would recommend  Alberto Hidalgo. I don’t have his phone number but here is his myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/www.alberto.com. Incidentally a lot of the photos are from our house in Crown Heights which we’re renovating. We mended the missing bit of parquet flooring ourselves and Alberto stained them to make them blend in. The pics. make it look much shinier than it is (he probably took them when it was still wet. Anyway, he did an amazing job and is cheap.

Try Carlos Salazar of Inti Wood Floors (carlos@intirenovation.com) ,  I’ve used them several times.  Carlos can be contact at 646-281-2659\.   Prices were good and service has always been top notch.  They are experts with antique parquet brownstone floors…they saved my floors!
