Hi, Three questions: I’m looking for recs re. replacement windows. I checked out older posts and am going to speak w/Citiquiet and LWP. Any other recs? I don’t need anything fancy – current windows are aluminum & no landmark issues. Also, we need to have our back facade repointed. Any recs for this work? We got a quote of 10K – ouch! But maybe this is standard. Old paint needs to be removed, lots of pointing and then some thorocoat painting above windows. Finally, is it best to repoint before replacing windows? Or the opposite? THANKS!

i would recommend replacing the windows after the pointing work is done (usually recommended by the contractor) cuz otherwise the windows get dirty during concrete work.

10k sounds cheap compared to the 20+ i paid for my front brick facade. but i also had paint removal and brownstone work. used excellent contracting (718-502-4414) loved the job and the crew!

Its best to repoint before you replace the windows, in order to maintain the integrity of the windows. As far as 10 k being a high quote it depends…how many windows are you talking…how many square ft? I would recommend using Mr. Shaiful and his crew. They did some facade repair work for me in the past with a reasonable quote. Did an excellent job with the facade. He is reachable at 347-474-7109.

I used Vila Windows and was happy with results and price 347-413-5066\. I’ve also used Luxury Construction for repointing 718-937-3642\. Price and results were also very good.
