How long do gas ranges typically last for?  I have one in a rental that cost me about $800 originally and is about 10 years old.  The oven isn’t turning on reliably and i have no warranty or service agreement.  Do i repair or replace?  If repair, who repairs gas ranges?  Any suggestions?

It should last a lot longer.  I imagine it’s worth fixing.  You might be able to find the igniter on line & replace it yourselves.  If not, I’ve used Servue Appliances despite the fact that I hate the name – 718 788 2426, also Prospect 718 788 7038 & Dial 718 368 1512\.  I deep so many in case one is too booked for immediate service.

 Yes I believe a stove should last longer than 10 years. I also will say 10 years is a long time to have a stove. If the problem is just the ignitor it might not be such a big deal. If you turn on the gas knob can you light the burner with a match? The burner is at the bottom of the stove…
