Someone’s not wasting any time! We broke the news at the end of January that the highly-visible McDonald’s at the corner of Tillary and Gold had just closed after a twenty-year run. Six weeks later, the place is boarded up with plywood and ready to be torn down: The demolition permit was pre-filed for last week.

  1. YES! I think people need to get the word out that if you INSIST on eating mcdonalds, at least have the will to go into the bathroom and barf it up! or just barf it up in a bag and feed it to a pigeon or something.

  2. slopefarm,

I see your point about “constitutionalizing the mentality” of citizens but the truth is, there are many educated individuals attempting to do just that by using government mandates to force people into a nanny state and influencing their irresponsible behaviour. An example of this would be the subsidizing of pregnancy in teenagers with greater entitlements to those with more children and of course without a father in the household. Much has been written about this misguided social engineering of the past and it’s effect on the minority communities.

As far as eating two value meals a day for the person with two jobs, I have to disagree there. I see many, many people daily who are working class or even existing on the poverty level, that choose to bag a meal of rice/beans/chicken just because it costs about 2 dollars a day as compared to a happy meal which costs about 5 dollars per meal. These folks I see brown bagging it are usually from other countries, it is unfortunately the Americans who are chowing down on the super saturated fatty meals at McD’s because they were brought up that way.
