Someone’s not wasting any time! We broke the news at the end of January that the highly-visible McDonald’s at the corner of Tillary and Gold had just closed after a twenty-year run. “do you really want the government to step in and regulate what people eat now?” well, they already do (USDA, FDA), and a lot of people argue that they don’t regulate enough considering all the instances of e-coli and salmonella poisoning in this country. i don’t think the government should be shutting down mcdonalds but they could be mandating higher standards in the huge food industries (beef, corn, soy, etc.), which would result in better ingredients going into our food – even fast food.

okay, fine, take them all down. WHY? people will just go to the next place for their gross junk food fix. it’s a business. it employs lots of people. and *newsflash* there’s many people who patron these types of places. yes, they are nasty and the food they serve is bad. so what? do you really want the government to step in and regulate what people eat now? that’s BEYOND lame and f’ed up.
