Development Watch: Turnaround at 424 Waverly Avenue
What a difference two years makes! The owners of 426 Waverly Avenue purchased the aesthetically-challenged structure back in September 2007 for $1,166,000 and set about restoring it to its original glory. And what a job they’ve done! Hip, hip, hooray! GMAP DOB 2007 Photo from Property Shark

What was this place?! I can only assume.
How do you get that stone off the brick without messing it up?
Saw the doors… wonderfully done. What “black” are they using for the door’s archway? I’m looking for a black to paint our front doors.
Oh yes, it looks great. A job well done.
BTW, I hate awnings, it blocks out my sunlight.
Oh my god… the Fiberama TV ads are parts of the reasons I haven’t cancelled my cable. Seriously, I effing love that family. Especially the son that wears the Hanes t-shirt and the customer that awkwardly lists off keywords.
Love it!
Yes I am. Thanks Dave.
I am doing it for my friend Josey (owner) and it is actually two 12.5′ wide row houses (424 and 426 Waverly.) The perma-stone exterior, on the before photo, was not only on the exterior of the building, but the interior walls as well. It was a good fit for the 12″ deep shag carpets and mirrored ceilings that were in there before the renovation.
Nothing says “class” like an aluminum awning (sarcasm). Like Dave, I have a photo of my house when it had the cloth awnings, and I don’t like them too much better, although it’s hard to tell their exact appearance from a picture taken 70 years ago. The Montrose Morris home in today’s post has several of them.
southslope, are you doing the doors for this place??? If so, I’m sure they’re going to look fantastic

I don’t hate NJ at all, Rob. Just saying sometimes we like things because remind us of simpler place and time.
LOL NJ for me was most definitely NOT a simpler place and time.
*rob*
> why is it so outlandish that some people have different aesthetic taste?
OK, fine, I take it back.
You’re not a contrarian.
You’re a philistine.
