Apologies, Benson.
@benson: Fair enough, but you can’t indict the NYTimes Metro Section when they were one of the main papers to accuse Rangel of major malfeasance.
Buttermilk;
Getting a little touchy there, aren’t you?
Benson, Andrea Peyser just called… she needs you to stop by and feed her cats.
Nortonbutler;
If you read Rangel’s letter, it addresses only one of the issues (the tax break). The NYP broke the other two scandals: the villa in the DR and the 4 rent-regulated apartments.
As if the Post took down Charlie Rangel… he-he.
I don’t want to defend the NYTimes too much here, but they were the main paper that broke the Charlie Rangel scandals. Particularly Times reporter David Kocieniewski. This is why Rangel wrote a pissed-off letter to the NYT back in 2008. This can be found here:
http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2008/12/03/nyregion/20081203_rangel_letter.html
“And Benson, the NYT article on LIRR union abuses was far more
investigative than the surface treatment the Post gives its stories. ”
Ask ole Charlie Rangel if he believes that. Ask the state senators who lost their rigged Aqueduct bid if they believe that.
He-he-he.
grand pa,
Answer = the ones moaning here are the wannabe millionaires
