More big news for the Putnam Triangle in Clinton Hill: A lease has just been signed at 14 Putnam for a high-end tea bar. From what we gather, the tea bar will feature an espresso-style brewing machine to create tea lattes, tea-chinos and regular loose-leaf teas; there will also be iced tea and kombucha on offer. On top of that, Blue Bottle coffee will be served alongside pastries, sandwiches and other small bites. The owner expects a relatively quick opening if all goes well. This storefront is just around the corner from the Fulton Grand Bar, a couple of doors down from where the food co-op is slated to be and just outside the proposed Putnam Triangle pedestrian plaza. Amazing! GMAP
Tea is OK.
but there is a tea lounge opening on Gates and Downing, sounds similar, and so close. i worry.
i want actual candy in the Putnam Candy spot
The Greene Hill coop will also be on this block of Putnam
Amazing! I was skeptical that that space would be filled any time soon. Great news. The transformation of the Putnam/ Grand intersection is one of the really wonderful and unlikely stories of Brooklyn real estate.
I think a Kate’s Paperia would be nice in the Putnam Candy spot.
High end tea sounds nice. Wonder if they’re planning to compete with Desserts by M. Allen in the pastry field.
And the Putnam Candy Store guys I’m sure will appreciate more tea options.
This is great news! I’ve heard that the Fulton Grand Bar is going to lease the Putnam Candy Store for some kind of food operation. Anyone else heard that?
