On Friday Gothamist reported that the Van Leeuwen ice cream truck was opening a permanent location in Boerum Hill this weekend. We stopped by 91 Bergen (right outside the subway stop) yesterday and the place was hopping. We like how the storefront turned out, too. Did anyone try it this weekend? GMAP

And high end pricing does not mean low end prices go up, that’s not good marketing strategy, and it’s not good business. People who manufacture lower end goods keep the prices low because they want people to buy them, end of story. They are not competing with the high end market, as they are selling to two totally different markets, two totally different sets of buyers. That goes for ice cream, or clothing, or cars.

you couldn’t be more wronger. yes, i said wronger.

    *rob*

  2. How do you know it’s crap, you’ve never tried it? There is nothing obnoxious or elitiest about a home made product, either, what a ridiculous statement.

  4. “not to mention, obnoxious, elitist, and causing the prices of regular crap to sky rocket. and if you think this crap is high quality i might have a bridge to sell you..”

you are just plain stupid. there is nothing elitist about ice cream and the fact that theirs is made from locally sourced, organic ingredients does nothing to increase the price of grocery store ice cream?! why would it? i don’t really follow your “logic”.
