A reader wrote in to inform us that she returned from vacation last week to find that, while she was gone, the Chinese restaurant at 1106 8th Avenue at 11th Street in the South Slope transformed into something called Yummy Taco! Does anyone know if this is straight-up Mexican or one of the Mexican-Chinese hybrids…

Does anyone know if this is straight-up Mexican or one of the Mexican-Chinese hybrids that has been increasing in popularity? GMAP
the “flag ship” store on flatbush is a hoot, they were once [9 years ago] passing off wattery ketchup as salsa sauce for a day cause they ran out… i never went back, but always tell non-new yorkers about the mexican/chinese/sushi joints in brooklyn… [including the place on newkirk ave with all 3 on the sign]
La cucaracha has no marijuana que fumar.
this used to be dragon garden, so I’m assuming it’s chinese/mexican.
DIBS, we’re trained to ignore the dumb ass remarks from stupid people. We work hard, save the USD, and wait for those dumb asses to come begging for loans
jester…the outcome of the apocalypse will be that only la cucaracha survive.
I love these places. 3 bucks for a bowl of rice and chicken.
sold
This is one of the predicted signs of the apocalypse. Yummy Taco is the worst. I wouldn’t be caught dead eating in there.
Taco Poblano on Broadway between Throop and Stuyvesant is really authentic. Try the barbacoa..its real goat!!!! Also the burittos lengua are good. Very, very cheap with a bar attached on the side.
Unless you like authentic Mexican soupy guacamole don’t order the guac.
I love Crummy Taco! The flagship store is on 6th ave and Flatbush on the edge of the Slope!
