What does it say about Brooklyn demographics when a successful pediatric practice named after a Manhattan neighborhood has more locations in Brooklyn? Such is the case with Tribeca Pediatrics, which opened its new Boerum Hill location last Monday at 250 Dean Street on the heels of opening a Williamsburg location earlier this year. The original office was opened in 1994 on Warren Street in Tribeca by Dr. Michel Cohen. (Full disclosure: The Brownstoner brood currently goes to the Williamsburg office.)

  1. Tribeca pediatrics is a good practice if there is nothing seriously wrong with your child. we learned that the hard way. image counts for very little when it comes to the health and safety of your child.

  2. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and they have done a wonderful job of updating the interior while maintaining the traditional exterior. Jane Jacobs would of been proud of the entire package…btw there is a little cafe around the corner (Nevins and Bergen) and someone recently mentioned a rumor about the corner place at Bond and Pacific turning into a cafe. Bravo!

Any word on what types of insurance that practice takes?

  3. Although I’ve heard good things about Dr. DeHovitz personally, we had a bad experience with Tribeca peds in Bklyn Heights (saw a newer associate there). Felt they were pushing unnecessary procedures on us with our newborn (!), who’d seen 3 previous (seasoned) pediatricians out of state with no similar anxieties. We’ve since switched to Marty Finkleman in Bklyn Heights – very happily. While the new Tribeca Pediatrics office is only a block away from our home, we’ll keep schlepping the mile and a half to him because he seems like the better doc.

  4. taking our daughter to the williamsburg location. it’s a beautiful office and it’s pretty easy right now to get an appointment although that might change. we’ve had a really great experience there. i am so much happier now with her care.
