Prospect Heights Dunkin Donuts Seized
The Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins on the corner of St. Marks and Flatbush has been seized, emptied, and locked up. The reason was unclear from the notice posted on the door, did anyone know of any trouble already brewing there? GMAP

I live around the corner from this Dunkin Doughnuts on Prospect Pl. I think of both my house and the Dunkin Doughnuts as being technically in Park Slope, since we’re on the SW side of Flatbush. I have lived in the “North Flatbush” area, and on both sides of Flatbush, for over a decade and don’t really care (as I think maybe some others might) about the designation per se, but I am curious what the boundary really is – i.e., is this area (and this side of Flatbush specifically) Park Slope or Prospect Heights?
Larder, for example, is often listed as Park Slope, but is another block NW of the Dunkin’ Doughnuts (same side of Flatbush – the SW side) and hence a block further away from the center of the Slope. Bar(n) is next to the Dunkin’ Doughnuts and I’ve always seen that listed as a Park Slope, not Prospect Heights, bar/restaurant. Franny’s is on the other side of Flatbush (what I thought was the “Prospect Heights side”) but is sometimes listed as Park Slope, and sometimes listed as Prospect Heights.
Understanding there are lots of definitions (and motives) out there, I’m curious about what neighborhood this strip of Flatbush – say from the Duane Reade on Flatbush and 7th down to the strip of “cute” storefronts at Bergen and Flatbush – would be considered… thoughts?

I second that! I love that with a scoop or two of the Rum Raisin! yum yum.
Ok, we need to get these guys back up and running asap!
The poster should have gone with the Baskin Robbins pun angle and asked ‘who has the scoop?’
Since you brought it up… the Dunkin’ Donuts that are Kosher (there are a lot of them)… they’re still open right? They are still Kosher, just not right now. They don’t have to stop making donuts to keep their Kosher Certification do they? Or, perhaps, it’s temporarily suspended for Pesach?
At least DD is honest about what is in their donuts:
FDA pressured to combat rising ‘food fraud’

The expensive “sheep’s milk” cheese in a Manhattan market was really made from cow’s milk. And a jar of “Sturgeon caviar” was, in fact, Mississippi paddlefish.
Some honey makers dilute their honey with sugar beets or corn syrup, their competitors say, but still market it as 100 percent pure at a premium price.
And last year, a Fairfax man was convicted of selling 10 million pounds of cheap, frozen catfish fillets from Vietnam as much more expensive grouper, red snapper and flounder. The fish was bought by national chain retailers, wholesalers and food service companies, and ended up on dinner plates across the country……………….
There’s another one down the street at Flatbush & 4th btw. But this one really brought a sense of community to Park Slope which is severely lacking in amenities and places for it’s needy citizens to gather and discuss scholarly topics.
This is probably killing the cops at the station across the street.
Oh, but I’ll eat one for you… 🙂
Sorry BDS… donuts are something that cannot be enjoyed until next week!
