As noted in a Food & Drink Roundup a couple weeks ago, 4th Avenue has a new coffee shop. Cafe 474, which is between 10th and 11th streets, has cups of drip starting at $1.50 and shots of espresso for $2.25. There’s also an assortment of baked goods from Blue Sky and Little Buddy. One of 474’s owners used to run a coffee truck. GMAP

  1. “englightened consumerism” is an AWESOME term jessi and totally is what i find so barfish about the lifestyle. it’s like b-otch you aint englightened about anything that really matters, stop playing phoney

  2. “Rob, didn’t you know that nothing you do should represent anything nor should you do one thing to help your fellow man or planet.”

Good one, blondie. It’s the disconnect, though. It’s feeling like you’re helping others by simply drinking coffee. I don’t want to be all “I lived in villages where this stuff was happening,” but I have. And generally it does some good, but seemingly not enough for that feel-good feeling you get from this enlightend consumerism.

  3. 11217…I have the best most obnoxious coffee pot. It’s antique Mexican sterling silver and is a combination pot, creamer, sugar caddy and bell on the top. The bell of course is to ring the help when the coffee is finished or becomes too cool.
