NOTHING beats a 50 cent cup of cafe bustelo real columbian coffee sold at bodegas. much stronger and more flavorful, and CHEAPER, than these gazillion new pussified coffees that have sprung up in the last 5 years or so

Fair Trade is an organized social movement and market-based approach that aims to help producers in developing countries and promote sustainability. The movement advocates the payment of a higher price to producers as well as social and environmental standards. It focuses in particular on exports from developing countries to developed countries, most notably handicrafts, coffee, cocoa, sugar, tea, bananas, honey, cotton, wine, fresh fruit, chocolate and flowers.

OK…I’m going to go get an espresso.
Benson,
Tell your sister to open up shop on 3rd Ave there in need of one.
Honestly, Cafe Regular Du Nord is probably the cutest coffee shop I’ve been anywhere in NYC. It really transports you to another world (I was going to say Europe, but I know a certain someone here hates Europe). 🙂
It actually reminds me of a cafe in Paris I went to once.
Decor is amazing, pastries are delicious (Sullivan Street) and the La Colombe is perfect. They make the best latte I’ve ever had.
And it’s tiny so people don’t hang around and stare blindly at their computers all day. It has a couple seats and that’s it.
I believe La Colombe on lafayette is owned by the shop that originated in Philadelphia, La Colombe Torrefaction, or maybe a franchise. it is indeed excellent coffee.
“For now I’ll make due with the delicious La Colombe at Cafe Du Nord.”
La Colombe (the one on Lafayette and Prince) is awesome. Didn’t realize other places serve their beans. That’s great.
ah I love La Colombe too
Parco serves it on 7th and 15th
Park Place:
There are a number of places in Park Slope which serve Stumptown coffee (Get Fresh Table and Market does on 5th Avenue) but an actual outpost of the shop would make BANK in these parts!
I’d pray for an Intelligentsia too, but doesn’t seem they are expanding into the NYC market right now.
For now I’ll make due with the delicious La Colombe at Cafe Du Nord.
