StreetLevel: New Thai Restaurant for Prospect Hts
We don’t frequent this stretch Washington, so we have no idea whether the large sign proclaiming Thai Food Coming Soon in the storefront on St. Marks has been there for a while. Assuming it hasn’t, does anyone know the ETA on the new restaurant? Think it’ll be a welcome addition to the Prospect Heights food…

the japanese restaurant there is amazing!!!!
I have to agree with the other posters. This are of Washington stretching from Clinton Hill through Prospect Heights is becoming very developed (in terms of condos), but the businesses aren’t following. I find it very strange.
The thai place is being done by the same people who run AM Thai in Kensington. It’s not Sripraphai, but it’s waaaaay better thank Mango, or any of that other Park Slope slop.
Bring it!! I’m taking the B45 from St. Johns on opening day.
Also note: New restaurant opening on Franklin between St. Johns and Sterling.
Walked past a new restaurant that is prepping for an open on Sat. Dec 1. I talked to one of the owners. The place looks upscale for Franklin, nice wood/glass doors, large space. The food is southern and will include authentic bbq. He gave me a flyer for the opening nite (which I cannot find). Its a dance party $10/cover R&B. He said they did not want the hip/hop crowd, but the older/professional crowd from the ‘nabe.
Do your thing and support local restaurants. Check the place out after Dec. 1.
Crown Heights Proud!
yeah, washington is still scary.
It’s taken years for Vanderbilt to pick up any foodie steam. It’s gonna be quite a while longer before Washington follows suit. Not hating, just opining.
“almost anything would be a welcome addition to the food scene on washington”
WHAT FOOD SCENE?
Please, trolls looking for development opps… take a look at the value of the apartments in all the pre-war bldgs lining E Pkwy on both sides of Washington. Look at the value of the co-ops on the side streets. We’re here, we’re hungry, and we got money to spend.
Now how ’bout something slightly more upscale like Joyce or Cheryl’s on Washington within 2 blocks of E Pkwy?
Live in the area
the sign is maybe 2 -3 weeks old
Thai is a great addition to the neighborhood
I wont have to hoof it over to Mango or Lemongrass Grill anymore
unless they suck
The great thing about really spicy Thai food is that not only does it burn on the way down; the next day, it burns on the way out too!
