Signage has gone up indicating that a Bank of America is opening on the northeast corner of Bergen and Flatbush, across the street from the old Royal Video location that may also become a bank branch. The big bank influx makes us wonder whether end times are near for that shady looking check-cashing place at 230 Flatbush. Anyhow, are readers on the Prospect Height-Slope border happy about the beefed-up ATM presence or is it just a snooze? GMAP
More professional business for the strip fewer baby bloggers.
Yes, I have heard of cameras 3:07, but cameras don’t follow you. Muggers do.
the 78th precinct is one block away at Bergen and 6th, so i can’t imagine would-be robbers would consider this a prime spot to jack someone. there are often many police cars parked across Bergen from this spot, too.
as for banks/ATMs, i wouldn’t mind a BofA here, but hope that it’s not starting a wave of them.
Ever heard of cameras. 3:04?
Deters a lot of ATM thefts.
I don’t believe anyone said there was zero crime in this area.
You need to pay attention.
This is a very busy corner. Even at night. Not the best area for muggings, but of course they do happen on occassion.
Never bring back Mama Duke! The food sucked. It was like they washed it after it was cooked. As for muggings, they go on now.Why do you think they would not increase now that they might get something more from the victim than an ipod.Just because some crime stats are hidden in police blotters in a local paper it does not mean that the area is crime free.
put in a brooks brothers and a DSW
A gap would do wonders there.
snooze
It’s like four steps in the right direction. Someone should open a gap and an urban outfitters too.
