When we spotted a changing of the guard at 723 Fulton Street back in October, one commenter stated rather authoritatively that it was going to be “a Thai restaurant brought to you by an operator of a thai restaurant on Court Street south of Atlantic.” Turns out that was right on the mark: Joya, the popular Court Street spot, will be expanding to the Fort Greene location, based upon an application taped up on the plywood shed. Excited?

m4l, there is something almost mystical holding that area back. To be frank I rather take C to lafayette then bother with clinton-washington.
M4L–isn’t that what the new BID is supposed to do? Here’s hoping…we need a lot of new businesses on Fulton in Clinton Hill.
I heard it will be called “Ray Ray thai”, which through me off the JOYA lead as Song meaning TWO was the second restaurant, I thought the Third would be called “Sam”. Regardless, this is great news for that strip.
Delepp, we need the stretch of fulton near us to get in gear.
This stretch getting much better, turkish, greek and now thai.
11217,
thanks. When I see you at the next gathering, I’ll ask for your contact info – you’re great source for bar, restaurant stuff
Beet is not bad (south slope). What I really want, though, is a good PHO place nearby… A girl can dream.
“where’s Mee Thai?”
180 5th Ave (between Berkeley Pl & Degraw St)
Check them out on yelp…lots of terrific reviews. I won’t go back to Song or Joya anymore after tasting Mee Thai. It’s cheap AND authentic! But NOT fancy or necessarily the most inviting decor. Don’t care if the food’s good though.
But I know proximity to where one lives is key too.
I’m happy to have any edible additions to the Fort Greene menus! Between the below average service and the waaay average food…Fort Greeen’s food is much to be desired.
