The folks behind Franny’s are in the process of setting up a new shop close to their restaurant called Bklyn Larder. The store, which is on Flatbush near the corner of Bergen, will carry “beautiful cheeses and thoughtfully chosen foodstuffs available to us from around the world, chosen by Sergio Hernandez, as well as prepared foods in the tradition of the food at franny’s (simple preparation, seasonality and uncompromising quality) packaged to serve at home.”

  1. I eat at Franny’s pretty regularly and never once encountered a “‘tude”

I’m quite looking forward to this place opening up. Will hopefully be a great place to pick up dinner on the way home when not in the cooking mood…

  2. excited for a decent place to grab a loaf of bread and some cheese but hoping that the prices aren’t out of line like they are at franny’s. i refuse to patronize that palce because a pizza, a salad and a drink will set you back $50 and no one is full.

  3. Franny’s has the MOST tude of any restaurant, bar none. And it makes for really stupid business decisions. When the kitchen backs up they will not seat anyone! they could say, “our kitchen is relly busy now but if you would like to have a seat and enjoy a drink for a short while…” But they do not — I have even asked! Told we had to stand at the bar (it was packed) so we walked out. Walked out more than once for stupid stuff like that.

  4. This place sounds nice, and an easy bike ride from home. What is people’s opinion of Stinky Brooklyn? I love their selection but do not really enjoy shopping there. For various reasons.
