As noted by Brooklyn Heights Blog, one of the Calexico Carne Asada carts is now stationed in Brooklyn Bridge Park, a few steps behind the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. The cart menu is missing the tortas and salads that you can grab at their Union Street restaurant, but they’ve got a full line-up of burritos, tacos, and rolled quesadillas, served with their signature “crack” sauce. According to Calexico’s twitter (which also lists daily specials), “We will be open in the park 7 days a week. Sunday through Wednesday 11:30-4 & Thursday through Saturday 11:30-9.” GMAP

  1. *rob* you are your own worst enemy – told you to get the quesadilla – CHRIST! and I dont buy at the Manhattan locations strictly at the Brooklyn Union st shop. If you eat meat you should have stuck with the meat. Or for crying out loud just go to hospice already!

  2. okay i tried the black bean taco? maybe it was a burrito? whatever was the cheapest thing on the menu (it was 3 bux). with the sauce at the one on wooster and prince street. i didnt see what was so special about the sauce, in fact i barely tasted it. i guess there wasnt enough? i wasn’t overwhemlbed at all by what i had, but someone told me that i should have gotten something else and not the simple black bean thingie, ah well.

what is the sauce supposed to taste like btw because i really didnt taste it, even tho he put some on.

  3. I am bonded for life to their black bean quesadilla that comes with crack sauce. And their tofu asado tacos are dreamy too. Husband swears by the pulled pork or Carne asada burrito. I know that crack sauce is bad for me but I finish every last drop.

God I hope they are gay.

I am going to find my special place and think of crack sauce.

  4. thanks DH, ill check that one out. i know i complain about working in soho ALL the time, but it is one of the better areas to work since there’s tons of shopping (tho i cant think of the last time i actually shopped in any of the stores) and tons of food options.. i worked at a temp agency for a month in midtown once and omg that was SO horrible.
