The poster child for the trend: 475 Sterling Place, the 45-unit newish condo building “with a pronounced social vibe” in Prospect Heights. Also on the list: The Novo in Park Slope. Any other buildings in Brooklyn where people are still holding on to dorm life? And how about some real dirt: Intra-building hook-ups, anyone?
The Social Building [NY Times]
It doesn’t matter to me, wine lover. I just don’t like you.
You’re a racist, and I don’t like racists. You try to downplay it here, but you’ve made some DISGUSTING comments on this board in the past with regard to this subject.
End of story.
“i would not have any respect for them as do not have any respect for anyone who employs illegal immigrants.”
I guess you never eat out in any restaurants in NYC then.
Awesome! We are under contract in this building (hoping to close soon). Ever since moving to NYC, I have really missed the social nature of the places I lived in Dallas. I made some of my best friends at The Village there. Great times.
dave – yes! the latin immigrants – have several friends in fact that i met through kids school. I know you think i’m prejudiced, by i have you pegged for a fellow conservative, so i think you can understand being anti- illegal immigration. I would of course be nice to a fellow parent of my kids class, but if they are an illegal immigrant as opposed to LEGAL IMMIGRANT, i would not have any respect for them as do not have any respect for anyone who employs illegal immigrants.
if you want in to this country start by respecting us and our laws and paying taxes.
11217- why why why – i’m not picking on you. i’m telling the truth. i lived in PH and PS for way longer than you’ve been living there, and sorry, but my neighbors just weren’t anyone who i ever socialized with. i like WB, so what? many many parents there say the same things that I do. our yahoo group, brooklynbabyhui is fantastic – no arguing, everyone’s supportive. you are not a parent, you don’t get it… so why pipe in? what i posted was relevant completely to the article. our building has been exactly how they’ve described the buildings in the article since day one. i don’t know why my getting along with my neighbors even matters to you. just bizarre.
Wine lover,
Do you even know how you sound? All your posts sounds like broker advertisements for Williamsburg, yet what you don’t realize is that you are actually working AGAINST your neighborhood because the more you talk about it, the more it sounds so totally dreadful.
No DIBS, what is stupid and obnoxious is when somebody grossly stereotypes everybody the way Rob does, which of course, is ironic considering he appears to be the complete sterotype of a bitch.
Depends what they look like, ditto.
quote:
studies have shown that the higher the socio-economic group the less interaction/ socialization with immediate neighbors.
that’s true but moonfaces seem to adore their structured play dates. kids must hate their parents these days.

DIBS – I thought you liked the neanderthal type??
