With summer fading, The Times focuses on apartment buildings in the city where residents like to party together. The poster child for the trend: 475 Sterling Place, the 45-unit newish condo building “with a pronounced social vibe” in Prospect Heights. Also on the list: The Novo in Park Slope. Any other buildings in Brooklyn where people are still holding on to dorm life? And how about some real dirt: Intra-building hook-ups, anyone?

  1. two of my filipino inlaws who live in the port richmond area were chased by a group of black kids shouting anti-hispanic slurs last month about the time the police beefed up their presence. Its downright rude when racists get their races mixed up.

  2. Jaguar,

    Go back under your rock please. So far today you’ve threatened physical violence to a poster and defended racists.

    If you stick around long enough, I’m afraid you’ll poison a baby next.

    Isn’t there a cock fight you’re missing somewhere?

  3. wine lover sounds like my co-worker. There was a conversation about the retirement age changing to relieve some of the pressure on Social Security. That crochety ass nut bag jumped into the conversation talking about illegal Mexicans were supposed to be deported and that they’re the reason retirement age is being changed because they’re collecting unemployement and welfare and a bunch of other stuff I can’t remember. The rest of us looked at her like she was crazy and kindly “removed” her from the conversation by telling her she sounded like a xenophobe and that she was grossly misinformed. I guess factual information doesn’t reach Staten Island.

  4. SlopeyJoe;

    I was being facetious in my comment above, regarding the Novo. My comments were really directed towards the general Brownstoner community (“Frownstoners”) who heaped scorn on the building.

    Glad that you are enjoying your new home.

    I live around the corner from you, in another BG/Katan development. Likewise, I am quite pleased with my home.

  5. Jaguar,

    As I said in my post (again you seem to have a problem with functional reading) wine lover has in the past said many derogatory comment towards latin immigrants. And now he’s trying to justify it in a legal/illegal context, but past comments were just hateful and racist.

    His comment today was G rated compared to previous posts about his feelings towards this group of people.
