I agree 100% DH. But that’s how it CAN be used, and some folks DO use it that way. Just as some folks come to Brownstoner to engage in serious conversations about real estate, while others come to post blow-by-blow details of their sex lives (Dave).

Again, there’s nothing wrong with any of that. It just cracks me up to read Twitter put-downs when it’s not too much different from any other digital communications technology.

also whatever happened to the concept of latchkey kids? im sorry but if youre over 10 and you cant take care of yourself for a few hours after school, you are developmentally being stunted.

perhaps i should have been clearer when i said i had a nanny for a few years that we didnt pay. she was a neighbor in our building and she was home during the day and she had her own kids so i would stay there after school when my grandmother went to daytime bingo and eat dinner there when she went to night bingo! so i guess she was less of a nanny and more of just a free baby sitter was who nice. Cookie was a good person.
