rob- poop on the floor is a lot more disgusting than strollers.And unhealthy. She’s understandably frustrated. The person who is allowing their dog to mess in the lobby is taking no responsibility, and is quite the pig.
I got to go out in my yard when I get home tonight and see what’s popping up. I have a lot of hyacinths about 4″ tall already down in Philly.
I planted a ton of daffodils and other bulbs last year.
Anybody want any liriope plants? I have about 12 I need to thin out, as well as 2 hydrangea.

no, i totally agree with you arkady, it IS disgusting. my roommates dog is super old and has let one fall out on the way out the door, but i made sure to run and get something to clean it up.. except when that does happen i have a near panic attack cuz im afraid that person who writes the notes is going to be coming down the stairs or something and see me cleaning it up!

To add to MM’s comments on the census, half the state’s budget is funded through federal revenues, and much of the City’s budget is funded through state distribution of state and federal funds. Many of these funds are distributed through formulae that are population-based. So it is very important to be counted.
rob – Don’t you think the smears were from the note-poster after he/she had stepped in it? I don’t blame him/her – bad enough outside where you tend to be on the lookout, but in your building!?! Ugh!
what about transient drifters like myself? it would seem that the census would do very little for me. (of course im gonna fill it out tho because i do think it’s important)

Slopey – I was surprised to see that a lot of green spears had shot up under the snow when I looked in my yard yesterday. It’ll be interesting to see what happens this year since things were so screwed up last year w/ the cold spring/early summer we had. I keep a diary & so far things are on time as compared to normal season (not last year.) Our last possible frost date is 23rd of April but first week is more usual. The shoots that come up this early are hardy enough that they can endure it except for blossoms such as magnolias if they open before a hard-ish frost & just rot when they defrost.
