  1. The absolute worst things on tv then were those ABC Afterschool Specials. Too much molestation and drinking going on for my tastes. I always cried afterwards. My mom eventually learned to stop making we watch them.

  2. Not only did we have very few channels, we had no remote!! You had to get off your A** and walk over to the TV and change the damn channel.

ENY, I feel your pain. Parents, they know not what they do!

  3. ENY, I used to fight with my two older brothers on Saturday mornings for the one tv we had. We had to let it warm up for a half hour or so before the picture would come in. We had a rule that you have to be first to tap the side of the tv and say “In Charge!” to control what we watched. If you left a small area of the carpet by the tv, you lost control and then the remaining to would toussle to get to the tv first and tap it! We were insane! Inevitably there would be cries of “Mom! He hit me in the eye!!!”

  4. “ENY- hmmmm…for a guy who hates Scooby you seem to know an awful lot about him”

That’s because I’m old enough to date back to there time when there were VERY few TV channels, and there was ONE TV in the living room. And guess who got to watch TV first after we got home from school? My sister, who was younger and had to go to bed earlier than me, so my Mom gave her first after-school TV dibs! And what did she always watch? Yeah, that’s right f**kng Scooby Doo! ARRRGGH! It sucked. She also liked “Lost in Space” which was sort of like a live-action version of Scooby Doo. Stupid!

“Ok, what is your favorite cartoon?”

What do you think – I’m from Brooklyn: BUGS BUNNY. The Flintstones were always good, too. Yogi Bear was another winner.
