I should put up an ad on craigslist and see if someone will trade me their stop smoking gum for all the patches 311 has sent me. I’ve got tons of those damn things.
Dave- Quitting smoking has been studied to be as difficult as quitting heroin and we all know that heroin addicts don’t stop just cause someone tells them it’s bad for them.
This is truly one of those easier said than done situations.
The pricing of cigarettes these days has definitely helped me cut down drastically how much I smoke and I suspect that my quit date is fast approaching, but right now, I’m so sick I don’t know what to do.
I hate to be mean on this but you smokers ought to listen to yourselves here and get the hint. I understand that its very tough to quit but all this discussion about all of your medical problems should be a wake-up call.
Besides, with smoking banned everywhere it has got to be easier to quit nowadays since you dan’t have all that smoke all around you.
Sorry if I’ve offended any of you. That said, the primary thing I noticed about Simon at the get together (after the very british chalk stripe gray suit) was that he smelled worse than an ashtray.
snappy- have you tried drinking Coke or Pepsi and eating saltines (no salt?). The doctor had my sister do that when she was pregnant and totally nauseous. I’ve done it when i was sick and it does work.
You might be in withdrawal or you might be going through stress. That’s what happened to me after my mom died. I was fine for 6 months then all of a sudden caved and was in bed for over 2 months. Everything hurt but the nausea was the worst- my sister told about this and it really helped.

Snappy, have you tried anything gingery? Tea, cookies, candies? Ginger is good for settling the stomach.
Oh, Dave, I wish it were that simple!
And I do understand that trying to quit while there are other stressful things going on in your life is probably not going to work.

Does it work with caffeine free diet coke? I’ve been off caffeine for about 12 years and can’t stand soda with sugar in it.
