  1. re: the trains.

    – new trains suck because (ive said this 100 x)
1.) they are designed for people to stand. i always find a seat even on a crowded train. im very crafty. you have to be if you dont like standing. new trains are horrible for seating especially the ones with just seats in one long line because of the leg spreaders (and you know who you are. youre balls dont need airing out that badly)

2.) terrible lighting for peoples’ complexions. i like staring at people on the train but with horrible lighting everyone looks fugly. it ruins the mood.

3.) the robotic lady voices. GACK!

4.) i do not want a clock that tells me when the next train is coming. this tho i think lots of people disagree with. if it says 11 minutes for the train to arrive, that’s an annoying 11 minutes. i’d rather it be random and get excited when i see / hear the train rounding the track. also for me, this makes it easier to find a seat. when it says train will be here in 1 minute everyone gets ready to push and shove inside. grrrr. this is why i dont take the L train. i’d rather take a cab to where im going anywhere on the L line (horrible i know!)

  2. I sense the employment market is getting better, along with a lot of other things. My daughter, who’s been unemployed since Dec, has had three interviews in the last two weeks, only two prior the whole time. No job yet but one needs interviews to get a job.

  3. yeah that’s what i was thinking too snappy (and congrats and good luck on your next interview!!!). ive been thinking long and hard about things and i’ve come to the conclusion that i would rather try and make more money so i can better afford my current living situation than have to downgrade to a living situation that might just be too stressful for me and not good in the long run. so i think if i can find a way to make some extra cash on the side it would be a good thing versus having to move somewhere else. i know people are supposed to live within their means, and for the most part i do because i do not even have credit cards so i really only spend what i make, but spending every cent of what i make when i make it, eh, kinda sucks you know? plus my student loan forebearance is up this month and it’s most likely not going to be renewed so i have to figure out a way just to make an extra 300 a month to cover that crap! boooo. honestly if the gov’t was smart, they would just wipe-out all the money people owe them for student loans and start out fresh.

that would help out the economy 10x more than helping auto makers and banks. but who the hell is going to listen to someone like me? now with student loans they are trying to make it where you pay in installments BEFORE you graduate, but you wind up in the end spending less because of less interest and stuff. kind of a good idea i guess. i would have easily paid 50 bux a month when i was in college for my loans than having to do it now!

  4. What do you guys think of the newly converted condos at 658 Park Place (btwn Franklin/Bedford)? I thought they were pretty nice inside. Border area, but improving and close to the 2,3,4,5, and a nice block itself. price seems reasonable too at ~$400psf, but I’d look for 10% off.

  5. Rob – good luck on the 2nd job search
Both my husband and I tried looking to pick up extra dough doing anything from early morning paper routes to nightly gigs at Lowes etc – we couldn’t find anything….
We aren’t willing obviously to work 10 hour work days and then of course have a real second job at a bar or store on the weeknights and weekends, so you might have more luck with that
