  1. Lechacal, a huge percentage of Tech kids come from homes where English is not spoken. Over 50 percent are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.

    I totally agree there as well. Benson was alluding to this in his post.
    The best example of this, in my opinion, is this idea that everyone who leads this country or has something to do with making large scale decisions has to go to Harvard or Yale.
    From Robert McNamarra to Jaime Gorelick, somehow Washington thinks that Harvard is the definition of success. It is certainly one of the many keys, but by no means the definition.

  3. I think universities should set their own entrance exams (mine had this system when I went there. Subsequently abolished & then effectively reintroduced.)
