I was out on Long Island (Patchogue) on Sunday, and looked at some apartments for rent there (my cousin manages an apartment complex there). I was surprised at how high the rents were for a location so far out ($1200 for a one-bedroom). The apartment was facing a golf course, but other than that, it was kind of “motelish” in its finishes.
To be fair, South brooklyn was never much of a crime ridden shithole. The crime contingent was always in the North Brooklyn. Doubt there were much shooting or stabbings in Gravesend or Dyker Heights back in the 70s-80s-90s. Probably even less than today.
“rents are jacked up on long island cuz of section 8. (seriously)”
um no
ever been to long island?
“DH, if them dudes got their tacos while I was eyeing the menu, I would’ve walked out – ie NFW a Chinaman would pay 3.65 for them tiny tacos.”
yeah – la superior in WB only charges 2.50 for most of their tacos (3.50 for beef tongue). no place should be charging more than them.
This was a requirement of a man on Match. It starts off sort of nice and ends with this:
Please, …NO …feminists, Drama Queens, psychos, brainiacs, snobs, atheists, criminals, con artists, high maintenence or gold diggers.
I guess I’ll pass this one up. I have to fit into at least one of these categories. lol.

I predict they’ll close pretty soon. if not, I would be tempted to fund a competitor nearby
