M4L, I considered buying a Mets hat, just to get a reaction, especially when I saw the Mets were up on the Phils 8-0 early in the game on Sunday. Only problem is I would never have another occasion to wear the Mets hat.

Where we stayed seemed to be on the outskirts of the gay area, which was terrific as that meant there were lots of nice shops and restaurants nearby.
please dont stereotype ALL gays as liking nice shops and restaurants! some of us find those things detestable.
“Not one mention of “Johannesburg,” a catchy and insistent anti-apartheid tune that got a fair amount of airplay before the anti-apartheid movment really picked up steam here.”
Slopefarm, I was sad to hear of Gil Scott-Heron’s death, as well. I remember him performing that on SNL. And you’re right, “Johannesburg” was brilliant, I remember it well. As well as “Whitey on the Moon.” His music was de rigeur in college, along with the Last Poets. They were a bit much for me, but Gil Scott-Heron always was great. I hope in death he gets the recognition he really didn’t get in life.
He would always get trotted out periodically, like Odetta or Richie Havens, as examples of their eras, but you had to live it to remember the power of their music and lyrics. They were very important.
Biff, they dont mind new yorkers wearing doormat team caps – ie rangers, Mets
Rob, lol. But you’re asexual, not gay. What do asexual’s like?
Biff, how was pricing on that scoop relative to blue marble?
hey, do you think your itinery for Philly appropriate for me dragging a 3.5 yr old? was planning to go to Philly soon too

And WOW, Rita’s Water Ice in Society Hill (on South Street) was AMAZING! The strawberry custard scoop blows away anything Blue Marble has, IMHO.
Biff, you got better treatment than if you wore a GIANTS cap
“dh, bellport is lame or not?”
