McNeills – awesome. McNeills is my long time watering hole back in Brattleboro. One of my brothers is tending bar there these days. It’s owned by Ray McNeill, who has literally destroyed his brain with alcohol. He sits at the bar and watches red sox games, drinks more than any other human I have ever seen, and then goes upstairs to his apartment to drink more and then sleep. If you have business to transact with Ray you have to catch him before noon. After that he isn’t really a human any more.
Denton: Asheville: Awesome. Great Park Slope vibe with an aromatherapy joint on every street. Hippies of all generations. Never saw as many old VW bugs as I did there. Nice walkable downtown with great Art Deco architecture. Plenty of music, wine bars, and beer joints. We looked at some gorgeous Art Deco bungalow style houses, 2500-3000 sft for under 400k.
Hey Denton, I am glad you liked it. That is what I heard about Asheville. Also, they have great local clay and so lots of potters. Actually, art of all kinds… I want to go sometime.
