  1. HA! jessi my freshman year roommate was an asian kid who stayed in his room 24/7 playing video games and never went to class. then he disappeared sometime in november. like LITERALLY disappeared. his parents came, i was questioned by authorities, blah blah blah. turns out he ran away with some girl he met on the internet.

  2. quote:

*rob* what was your favorite college course?

i actually liked almost all of them except for Justice in American Society. idiotic elective that was, not sure what made me take it. i took a psych course on fantasies of flight and levitation, that was fun! all in all tho college is kinda lame in that you dont really learn much. i guess i learned some stuff in my psychology major, but with my art major it was nothing but fart sniffing.

ooooh, Drugs and Plant Hallucinogens was a fun class only for the fact that it was a giant lecture hall and everyone really did look stoned hahah

  3. bx — you and Montrose would probably both like reading New York 1913, by Martin Green. (I think this is up arkady’s alley, too.) It ties together as a single cultural moment the Armory Show and the pageant performed at the old, old MSG in connection with the 1913 Paterson garment workers strike. Talks about Mabel Dodge’s salon, etc.

  4. Biff- did you see the movie, Invictus? There was one scene where the team goes to the prison where Mandela had been and Matt Damon goes into the cell where he lived. You could see how it affects Damon’s character- the reality of what life had been like for Mandela was huge.

However, if scaring them straight doesn’t work, ou could give them a taste of what life would be like if you were in prison instead. 🙂
