Lamb, I also used to drive back to the farm in VT (only a 45 minute drive) to take saunas. I had built a sauna straddling a stream and waterfall the summer before starting college.
My first college roommate was tall and had bleach blond hair and seemed like she was about 20 years older than me. She was fully adult at 18 and I was 17 going on 12.
The second one was my choice when I was at a different school and it was ok for a while. She wasn’t a college student though; just working and it turned out we had nothing in common but the apartment which got smaller and smaller and smaller by the day. I was trying to study and I have no idea what she was trying to do. She smoked a LOT of pot.
Lots of stuff. I used to go to a pottery studio on campus and make things on the pottery wheel. I worked as the lighting guy at a nightclub in Northampton MA – maybe 2 or 3 shows a week. Sometimes I would go hiking on Mt Tom or Mt Holyoke. During long breaks I worked with the circus.
I was in a triple my freshman year.
But one guy always drove back home during the weekend because he was still dating his high school girlfriend.
The other guy was very cool but would sleep with anything that moved.
It was kind of tiresome coming back to the dorm with some girl looking like Ed Sullivan sleeping there.
Later I moved to an off campus house with two guys and the entire downstairs had sorority girls.
I kid you not. te he he.
One of the fellows later came out, when I met him and his friend Jose on East 57th Street one summer.
CGar,
No one you would know,
at least I don’t think so, but it’s a small world.
He’s not practicing in New York.
Fail?
Now I know why bxgrl calls you an “evil man” sometimes!

“So strange, back in the day, it would be no big deal to go at it with other people in the room. Now, that would be totally distasteful.”
Funny, I’m the opposite, probably because I had a lot more hang-ups when I was college age.
