lamb – A little more background that everyone else here has probably heard a thousand times…. I didn’t go to high school. I dropped out in 9th grade and joined a traveling circus. I never got my diploma or a GED.
Thinking independently has never been my problem. I am increasingly aware that it may actually be my greatest weakness.
“I was trying to study and I have no idea what she was trying to do. She smoked a LOT of pot. ”
That just reminded me,
one of those two guys at the sorority house was a big stoner, but his friend was even more so.
This guy looked just like Zack Galifinakis from the Hangover but shorter, with the full beard of course.
He practically lived in our apartment because the two of them smoked every day.
He even set up a closet with grow light, lined with aluminum foil.
It helped that I worked at Pizza Hut and always had boxes of pizza in the fridge. They would call up and never pick them up. So at the end of the night they were there for the taking.
The one with the beard took one too many hits of LSD one time and was arrested at the bookstore for some reason so he ended up taking a semester or two off.
christ, lech… if all that’s true you probably did more thinking than the rest of us losers. I never met anyone in school with that kind of independence.
I had a VIRTUAL roommate though when I moved to Manhattan.
We both had apartments on the second floor of an upper East Side apartment, lower East Harlem (total dump).
We had our own Sex in the City type friendship going on. She was my next door neighbor and I got to know her whole family and friends. And she mine. And we were pretty crazy. Had awesome parties where people were hanging out in both apartments and the hallways. We were neighbors for 9 years and really had fun.
She was like Kramer, always BURSTING into my apartment with some crazy thing or other.
Damn, I wish I could chill at a sauna straddling a stream and a waterfall. Sounds awesome. I need some nature. Too bad you weren’t dating because that would have been pimpish.
I had a lacrosse jock as my freshman year roommate. He was fairly nondescript with equally bland girlfriend. But such was life in a no name school in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Then I transferred to a no name school in Jersey and commuted. I never had much luck on the roommate front.
