magnets?
Here’s a simple magnetic experiment that I often demonstrate when littlelegion has friends over:
Take a magnet, like a refrigerator magnet.
attach it to something like a bent coat wire coathanger.
Make the shape like a seven (7), with the magnet at the top of the seven.
Bend the wire at the base to make a sort of loop and hammer the wire structure into a wooden board.
You should now have a simple scaffold with a magnet fixed on top.
Now just take a piece of string and a paper clip.
Staple the string to the board beneath the magnet and leave enough string to keep about 1/4 of an inch space between the magnet and the paper clip.
Raise the paper clip near the magnet and let it go.
It will stay suspended in mid air to the amazement of all the kids there!
JB, that second rate NYC feel of FiDi wont be changing anytime soon too – unless somehow the increasing residential mass there triggers a ton of nice retail
Also, most of the hedge fund ballers are in midtown anyway. The Four Seasons restaurant would be the baller place of choice for the really big ballers.
do fidi “ballers” still trek up to tribeca for lunch/dinner? i’ve always wondered how circa 90s popular places like Nobu, Tribeca Grill etc still stay in business.
m4l, I can’t help it, but all your posts are doing is making me laugh today. I’ll gladly get in another fist fight with you next time I see you if you’d like. No doubt I’ll kick your ass again.

rob – You could be asked to do it & then turn down the offer.
Yes, dh, they do.

“it’s so hard to focus on the subway, surrounded like that with the detritus of mankind”
Yeah but a lot of them are really hot eye candy…for both you and me.
but it’s close to battery park city, isnt it? i guess if you like a relaxing lunch hour to sit outside it’s not a bad spot at all.
*rob*
yeah dibs – not baller at all

I would rather work in midtown. FiDi has no swagger. It’s like a second rate NYC down here.
