  1. “had I just went and, I don’t know, managed a small hotel in some other country, I’d always feel like I should have tried being a lawyer. I wouldn’t be happy without getting this out of my system.”

I had a similar experience when I first got out.
I worked for someone for six years. Crazy hours, no lunch,
12 hour days, calls at all hour of the night.
I learned a lot from that. Including how I didn’t want to practice.

I’ve gotten many things out of my system in small hotels.

  3. “It also helps to know how one defines success and happiness.”

Not sure if this is what you’re getting at, but, if I didn’t have this crappy job now, I’d never be able to appreciate whatever it is I end up doing – like had I just went and, I don’t know, managed a small hotel in some other country, I’d always feel like I should have tried being a lawyer. I wouldn’t be happy without getting this out of my system.

  4. “It’s interesting how most conservatives seem so much angrier than liberals regarding just about anything.’

    On conservatives being angry.
I don’t know if that’s the case pete.
I never see a conservative storm off stage or run out of an interview in a rage.
I’m constantly seeing liberals walk off in a huff because they didn’t like what they were hearing.
For instance Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walking off their own show when Bill O’Reilly said something they didn’t like.
