back in the day (yeah, I’m old enough to say that about the following), Toshiba satelite and IBM ThinkPad were legit cream of the crop hence their stiff prices. now, dont really see any cream of the crop brands anymore – ie almost every brand is making pretty good laptops.
DH, more recent lenovo’s (albeit still good) have more issues than previous ones and I’m guessing it’s because it’s no longer real ibm thinkpads but rather lenovo (chinaman) laptops with the “ThinkPad” logo slapped onto it. IBM ThinkPad were legitimately a lot better than the rest of the windows laptops hence the much higher price. Lenovo ThinkPads are good but it’s no longer the alpha in the laptop space. By no means am I saying it’s bad (actually struggle to come up with a brand that now makes BAD laptops) but rather that it’s now a me-too vs. previously shoulders-above
Having been in various IT jobs for the last 20 years, and used most of the major brands at some point another, my opinion on personal computers (including Apple) is that they are all shitboxes.
In my experience the price point you buy at has much more to do with quality than the brand, although it is a imprecise indicator at best.
The “purple nurple” is categorized under the complex, multitudinous and ever-increasing heading of Childhood Torture Techniques.
These “torture” techniques are often learned in childhood and employed throughout adolescence and into college dorm life as a means of subjecting the victim to painful and/or uncomfortable stimuli.
Examples include:
The Wet Willie
The Indian Arm Burn
The Chinese Grass Nose Torture
and
The Purple Nurple which involves grasping the individual’s nipple between thumb and forefinger firmly then twisting heartily until a shriek of pain is illicited. :o)

Legion, you left off the nookie, the wedgie, and the rat tail (aka the towel snap).

Arkady, look it up on Urban Dictionary. I would do it for you, but that site is blocked at The Death Star.
Gauchies was a popular slang term for underwear that kids used when I was a kid in Canada. I guess it wasn’t as common here.
